About Speech Timer Visual

Do you need to do something within a certain time?
Do you need to monitor your progress along the way?
Are you frustrated by countdown timers that stop counting just when you need them most, when you reach the alloted time? I was.

When I first started timing my speeches I used my phones stop watch. Two problems - I couldn't read the numbers with my peripheral vision whilst making my speech and secondly, I had to continually remember what my alloted time was and compare that with the stop watch display, subtracting the two numbers in my head to see how much time I had left. I found that mentally exhausting to do whilst simultaneously making a speech!

Next I tried my phones countdown timer. This worked much better. I could set my alloted time and see how much time I had left. I still couldn't read the numbers with my peripheral vision, but the biggest problem arose at the end of my speech. Once the allotted time was reached, the timer simply stopped! This is what countdown timers are supposed to do but it is not what you want when making a speech. One does not simply stop the speech once the time is up. Rather, one must bring it to an orderly conclusion and deliver a meaningful closing statement. Whilst doing this, it is helpful to know exactly how much over time you are, something the countdown timer just could not tell me.

Surpisingly, I couldn't find a timer that did what I wanted, so I built my own.

Combining the features of a stop watch and a countdown timer, this app is just what you need for timing a speech or presentation.

Speech Timer Visual gives you all you need at a glance -

- elapsed time from start to finish
- easily set target time
- a visual indication of time elapsed and time remaining
- monitor your time and progress as you go
- over time visual indication

Target time can be 0-60 min and set in 5 sec increments.

Ideal for speeches and presentations where time is of the essence, but where your conclusion must be orderly, to the point and definately not rushed.
