Enchance is the first online platform for entrepreneurship-based learning for teachers in lower secondary education for adults (ISCED 2).
Approximately 23 million adults in Europe dropped out of school before completing upper secondary education (Eurydice Report 2015 "Adult Education and Training in Europe").
Project partners provided support to this target group using problem-based learning (PBL) and entrepreneurship education. This combination of the two is known as entrepreneurship-based learning (EBL). In EBL, problem-based learning (PBL) is transformed into a single project-based experiment, in which the proposed activities follow the main steps that an entrepreneur goes through when setting up a business. This new teaching technique aims to develop entrepreneurial skills along with the knowledge and skills specific to each subject.
EBL is a very effective method of working with the target group. Therefore, we wanted to develop a whole curriculum for adult lower secondary education (ISCED 2) based on EBL.
To achieve this goal, the first step was teacher training. However, we did not identify any resources available for teacher training on the development and implementation of a comprehensive curriculum for adult lower secondary education based on EBL.
That is why we have decided to develop this first online, open and multilingual platform on entrepreneurship-based learning (EBL) for teachers in lower secondary education for adults (ISCED 2).
