Wali is a music group from Ciputat, South Tangerang. This music group was formed in 1999. There are 5 members, namely Faank (vocals), Apoy (guitar), Tomi (drums), Ovie (keyboardist), and Nunu (bass). All of the band's personnel are pesantren graduates and some are alumni of UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta. Previously, the guitarist, Apoy had been an additional guitar from the band Neutral on the album Oke Deh (2001).
His first album was Orang Bilang, which was released in 2008. The band generally had local genres of total creative pop with a touch of Malay rhythm in their songs. The hit songs on this album are Dik and Egokah Aku, who use Shireen Sungkar as a video clip model. Song Dik, which is a mainstay by including the love pop element, was recorded as a RBT (ring back tone) for 1 million cell phone owners until mid-May 2008. This became a barometer for the success of the 5-member group.
