Nity gives the best in class map and dash cam experience with no recurring charges. The dash cam is setup to take recording event that you can submit to your insurance company. Every recording has driving parameter embedded in the file name. Within map you can now select points of interest and navigate there with a click of a button. The interface has been expanded to four pages: the main page with map and AI enabled dash cam, a settings page to choose option, an analytics page for driver ratings and a running page.
Key Features:
Map & Navigation:
1) Turn by turn voice enabled navigation with current and next route information. Type in your destination by touching the map text field or speak to it. Select your destination from many choices and hit GO.
2) Animation to switch from camera and map view to map view only enabled using touch at the map screen. The feature is enabled at zero speed for driver safety. But once a mode is enabled it will stay on unless changed again.
3) Alternate routes for congestion.
4) Multiple point of interest selection and map rerouting by selecting the POI and then the navigation button. The rerouting function may take time to update based on internet speed.
5) Automatic zooming in the map as you are coming close to an intersection and un-zoom when just passed the turn and far away from next intersection.
Camera & Object Detection:
6) Recording button to record events - automated and manual option for recording. The auto option has fixed 3 sec recording which triggers during sudden acceleration or deceleration exceeding 0.3g. The auto mode can also be used to manually tap on record and it will stop recording after 3 sec.
7) The object detection & classification is done by training a deep neural network model. In addition to neural network, a computer vision model runs in background all the time to detect any types of object without classification.
8) Various warnings such as watch out, slow down if approaching too quickly, yield for pedestrian, watch out for deer & warning on green traffic light if wait too long
9) Tilt angle is added to position the phone correctly. Before the start of the journey, position the phone so the tilt is in green region. It is expected that the tilt will change during drive due to road elevation, there is no need to adjust it during drive.
Running & Navigation:
10) Time to complete 100m and 400m distance for running or biking.
11) The running mode has option to use turn by turn navigation without leaving the screen.
Rating:
12) Combined driver rating based on acceleration, braking, speeding and turn.
13) 0 to 60 mph (0 to 100 kph) timer.
14) Information how individual drive rating is calculated.
