About Way - Intuitive Eating App

Way is an intuitive eating and mindful eating app that helps you find peace in your relationship with food and your body.

Grounded in intuitive eating and mindfulness within the cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) framework, we focus on what food makes your body feel good and what makes you feel good about your body, as an avenue to long-term eating behavior change. Listening to your body is core to the experience and what we hope to guide you to.

Instead of a prescribed diet, Way uses easy, thought-provoking questions and entertaining nuggets of information to help you uncover the thoughts, emotions and feelings that drive your relationship with food and your body.

Almost all restrictive diets and nutrition solutions are built around some form of quantitative, externalized rules-based systems (i.e. calorie counting, food “prescriptions” meal plans, color-coded or point-based systems). Seems logical, but studies show that this approach to restrictive dieting FAILS 83% of the time.

Way’s approach is different.

Our sessions guide you through an ever-expanding path toward self-discovery using quick, fun, entertaining and informative sessions that help to uncover a balanced, rational mindset around what you eat. These sessions deliver progressive, self-derived learning through three core practices:

*Cultivating greater self-awareness and self-curiosity about eating patterns and habits of thinking around mealtime and nutrition.

*Developing a mindful ability to **pause** between stimulus and response with food. This includes developing foresight and planning as it relates to food and your body - the **pause** is a core tenet of nearly all mindfulness and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) practices.

*Building greater self-acceptance, self-kindness and disarming the negative “internal self talk” that can be the thief of energy and is the signature of diet culture.

We know this approach works because we built it on a foundation of highly successful intuitive eating and CBT practices -- proven effective 76.4% of the time!!

HOW IT WORKS:

Way’s sessions are designed to be a conversation starter and make a mindset shift that guides you into a better relationship with food. Each session is hand-crafted by an intuitive eating dietitian, mixed with powerful behavioral modeling, then made super simple, easy and relatable by our world-class team of editors.

We recommended you do one session per day. As our behavior scientist says, “Although you may enjoy doing a lot of sessions, doing too many in one day may cause confusion and cognitive overload. We want to make sure you get the most out of Way, to make lasting change, so take your time and enjoy each one that much more!"
