About Green P

The newest release of Toronto's only official "Green P App" from the Toronto Parking Authority makes parking easier and faster than ever. Available for on-street parking, all non-gated off-street carparks, and now at participating gated carparks. Skip fumbling for change or waiting at a machine by using the app to pay for parking in seconds.

With this update, you can now start and pay for gated parking sessions by simply scanning a QR code at the entry gate. When you’re ready to leave, the app will automatically calculate your total and let you exit seamlessly, all without needing a paper ticket.

Set up your profile quickly and pay using Apple Pay, PayPal, or your credit card. Plus, the app will notify you when your parking time is about to expire, so you can extend it remotely if needed.

Key Features:
- Pay for parking in on-street, non-gated, and participating gated carparks
- Enter and exit gated carparks using QR codes
- Use your credit card, Apple Pay, or PayPal account for payment
- Receive reminders when your parking session is about to expire
- Extend your parking session remotely from your phone
- Use the Green P Locator to find carparks by GPS, address, or landmark
- Get parking receipts emailed directly to your inbox
- View your complete parking transaction history

Full of bugs and loud notification sound
Worst ever app I’ve ever seen. Visiting Toronto parked in a place and used the app. When time limit was approaching I tried many times to extend the session that keep saying not sufficient funds, start new session while there was more than enough funds in the wallet. I made a new session it worked. But when the previous session ended there was a loud trumpet, drum, and vehicle horns sound to remind me. And woke up my sleeping son. What kind of maniac would use such an absurd sound for notifications?!

Minimum wallet refill is too high
First of all, forcing users to fill a wallet instead of letting pay for parking directly is bad design. But secondly, making the minimum refill $20 is just abusive exploitation of users who don't need to use that much

Broken
This app is so confusing. I’m parked in a garage but despite it being tied to my license plate the app seems to have no knowledge of it. I add time through the app and then go to renew parking but there is nowhere to renew so I have to just start a new session which results in me paying extra because the old session hadn’t expired yet. Something is VERY broken I’m so confused and can’t believe such basic functionality doesn’t exist in this app.

Doesn’t work for int’l phones
Tried repeatedly to access this app, get the same error message every time: “the country list failed to load.” Wish the devs would remove the option to change countries, if it can only be accessed with a Canadian mobile number. So frustrating, especially in sub-zero weather.

Took my money
Requires you to put in $20 just to pay for parking anywhere. I only needed about an hour of parking, but paid $6 for a little over that just in case. I am from the US, so now just had $14 remaining in this account which I will never use again. They only gave me a partial refund due to CAD to USD exchange, even though I paid in USD to begin with.

love the Passport app, but...
this app never worked, despite trying different cards on a number of occasions. i'm not sure what the problem was; i just gave up and paid at the stations, which is definitely not as convenient. deleting as soon as i can. still love Passport, though, which is evidently a parent? i seldom have had issues with that app, over several years ...

20 dollars to start!
I feel robbed! I downloaded it, entered credit card and it charged me with 20 dollars to start! it didn't ask! I was only able to use 2.5 dollars and i lost the rest because i was in Toronto for a day. tried to use it in a public garage and it wasn't accepted.

Awful app. Awful customer service.
I never was able to get the app to work. But, of course, Green P had no trouble collecting the required initial funding for the account. I contacted customer service about the problem. Three months passed without a response, so I sent another email. A month later, I received a reply apologizing about the long delays (um yeah, okay, every company is using that excuse; meanwhile, they post record profits). I call the number given and jump through hoop after hoop. They then sent me an email requiring the exact information they just asked me for and gave (name, address, phone number and email) so that they could pass along the request for a refund. Sure, I’m going to wait another three months. No Thanks. I opened a dispute with my credit card company and deleted the app.
