Cilantro Cultivation Crop Information
Cilantro is used in daily meals. Cilantro is grown in almost all the states of India. Cilantro is in demand throughout the year for its special flavored leaves. However, cilantro is cultivated mainly during kharif and rabi seasons. Although the production of cilantro is less in summer season, the demand is high. From this chutney, wadya, vegetables are made.

Type of soil
Medium hard and medium depth soil should be selected for cilantro cultivation.

Weather
Cilantro can be grown in any type of climate so it can be grown all year round in the climate of Maharashtra except in areas with heavy rainfall.

Crop species
No. 65T5365 NPJ 16V1VV2 and Co-1, D-92D-94J214K45 are local and improved varieties of cilantro. There are also Vaishali, GC-1, 2, 3, Dapoli castes.

Planting
For cilantro cultivation, the field should be plowed vertically and horizontally and well paved with 3 x 3 m flat furrows. Add 8 to 10 kg of well decomposed cow dung in each waffle and mix well. The vapors should be flattened and sown with seeds that fall like seeds. Seed should be covered with soil and lightly watered. In case of high infestation of weeds, shallow rows should be sown at a distance of 15 to 20 cm between the flat weeds and then cover with soil. In summer season, steam should be well soaked before sowing. And sow seeds on Wafsa Alya. Cilantro requires 60 to 80 kg seed per hectare. Before sowing, seeds need to be processed for good germination. Before sowing, break the coriander seeds and separate the seeds. Also, Dhanya seeds should be kept in a warm place in water for 12 hours before sowing and then used for planting. As a result, germination takes place in 8 to 10 days instead of 15 to 20 days, which increases the production of cilantro and helps in early harvesting.

Fertilizer management
For good and vigorous growth of cilantro crop, 35 to 40 carts of manure per hectare should be mixed in the soil at the time of sowing. At the time of sowing, apply 50 kg 15-5-5 mixed fertilizer to cilantro crop. Apply 40 kg N / ha 20-25 days after seed germination. If cilantro is to be pruned, apply 40 kg N / ha after harvest.

Water management
Cilantro needs regular watering. In the early stages, before the germination of seeds, dry grass or sugarcane husk should be applied on the side of the paddy while watering the paddy.

Disease control
Cilantro does not show many diseases and pests. Sometimes the disease is contagious. For control of bhuri disease, bhuri prevention variety like Lam CS-6 should be used. And use water-soluble sulfur.

Production
Cilantro starts flowering two months after sowing. Therefore, cilantro should be harvested before it is green and when it is tender. Normally 15 to 20 cm tall but cilantro should be uprooted or cut before flowering. Then the cilantro should be tied in pairs and arranged in gonapat or bamboo baskets and sent to the market for sale. The yield of cilantro is 10 to 15 tons per hectare in rainy season and winter season and 6 to 8 tons per hectare in summer season.
