Water management
Amla is cultivated as a dryland crop. However, new seedlings should be given 20 to 30 liters of water per plant at intervals of 10 to 15 days.
Full grown amla trees give good fruits even without watering. However, fruit bearing trees should be watered at intervals of 20 days. This reduces the yield. Also the fruit growth was good.
For irrigation, 5% of Amla tree propagation should be made by making circular nets with slope towards the trunk of the tree from outside to inside. If the available mulch is used in it, rain water is compacted in the soil during the rainy season. If the soil retains moisture for a long time, a good yield of amla is obtained.
Cultivation of intercrops
In Amla, intercrops can be taken initially for 5-6 years. Crops should be taken leaving one meter space around the amla. In kharif, sesame, urad, green gram, gram, pea, mustard, sesame vegetables should be grown during rabi season. Amla orchards are in full bloom in the months of January-February. Intermittent crops should not be taken during the leafy period. Cultivation of Stylo hamata helps in weeding. It also helps to improve land copy.

Renovation of the old garden
Older quality and wild amla trees can be converted into good quality trees. For this, in the month of March-April, the old tree should be pruned to a height of one meter. The plants are dormant for a few days after pruning. The pruned tree usually has several footways after one month. In July-August, keep an eye on those feet. However, when filling the palms, only strong footways should be kept and good breed eyes should be filled on it. In this way the whole tree can become a new and better variety.
