Prayer is the basis of communication between Allah and the slave.
There are verses and hadiths that say that a person who prays five times a day and does not commit a major sin will be forgiven for his minor sins.
The Qur'an says: “Read the Book that has been revealed to you, and perform the prayer.
Undoubtedly, prayer forbids indecency and evil ”(Ankibut, 29/45).
The Prophet (pbuh) said to the Companions, "If a river flowed in front of the door of one of you and he bathed in it five times a day, would that person be dirty?" When asked, the Companions replied, "It will not disappear." The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said, "He cleanses sins five times in prayer, just as water cleanses dirt."
In another hadith, it is stated: "The five daily prayers and the Friday prayer will absolve a person who has not committed a major sin from his sins until the next Friday" (Muslim, Taharat, 14-15, Tirmidhi, Mawaqit, 46; Ibn Majah, Taharat, 79, 106). In the Hereafter, when human beings are accounted for, the first thing they are asked to do is pray. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “The first thing that people will be called to account on the Day of Resurrection is prayer. Our Almighty Lord, aware of this, says to His angels: “Look at the obligatory prayer of My servant. Has it been fully implemented or is there a flaw? ” If his obligatory prayers are complete, the reward will be recorded in full.
If there is a defect in the obligatory prayers, Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning): If he has completed the Sunnah prayers, then Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):
